Facebook announced that it will enable users who are using tablets and smartphones to search for past posts of their friends when necessary. The California-based social network giant said that they are already testing the feature that uses keywords to find old posts.
Privacy settings of Facebook users still remains
According to Facebook, search results are still dependent on the sharing settings of its users, such that private posts will never be visible on search results.
Search access on desktop and laptops
Early last year, Facebook launched “Graph Search” that helps Facebook members get a hold of the vast amount of information available within the social network. However, this feature is only available to members using desktop computers or laptops, and was introduced as a work-in-progress.
The social network utilises Microsoft’s Bing search engine to access and display content in Facebook, and thus, is not available on Google search results.
