One of the secrets to getting ahead in search rankings is to create fresh content for your website. You may have heard this pointer a lot of times now, but have you even started doing it? How do you create fresh content on a regular basis that calls the attention of search engine robots? Let me tell you how.
Set up a blog
There is no other way to upload new content on your website on a regular basis than setting up a blog and publishing a post every so often, especially if your website is static and does not require user-generated content. Once you have successfully installed a blog on your website, religiously publish articles or blog posts that are related to your website brand, products, or services. While I recommend that you do this every day, a weekly or regular cycle of two to three articles a week should do initially, especially if you are still getting the hang of it.
Choose topics that your readers will find most appealing – or useful
The key to getting good topic ideas for an article or blog is to research. Read the news, sneak over your competitors’ websites, or check out popular hashtags on social networking sites. You would want to post articles that will catch the attention of your website visitors and potential customers, so it is important that you know what appeals to them the most.
Limit outgoing links
So you found an interesting article or news item on the internet, and you’d like to share it to your readers. Problem is you don’t want to plagiarize, so instead you link your blog post to the original story. This is a good strategy; however, you should learn to limit outgoing links and instead encourage incoming links to your website. If you have to do this, make sure that news summaries or commentaries should only appear a few times on your blog as compared to feature or original articles.
Ask feedback
Know what your readers what to read or see on your blog by asking them what interests them the most or simply gathering available information on your analytics data. You may also get insights from your social media page. Review what your customers commonly ask or inquire about, and then write an article about it.
Remember, search engines prefer to rank websites that showcase fresh, new content as opposed to static ones with old, rusty content. If you need help in content marketing or simply have questions about how to create fresh content, drop me a line and I will be glad to help you.
